Description

At BOPAS, we nurture the next generation of screen and stage talent through a dynamic, hands-on approach to performance. Our program is designed to evolve with our students’ growth. Our classes are built on trust, curiosity, and creativity — a place where you can learn how to interpret scripts with confidence, make strong choices, and trust your instincts. Acting training isn’t just about performing; it’s about developing courage, emotional awareness, communication skills, and the ability to step into someone else’s world with empathy. In our studio, students learn to listen deeply, respond honestly, and bring characters to life in a way that feels truthful and exciting. We are also uniquely guided by a working actors’ agency, which means our students have access to real audition opportunities in Film and Television while they train, if that’s the pathway they choose. For those who wish to pursue acting beyond the studio, we can support them in finding the right agent and navigating the industry with confidence. Term dates for 2026: Term 1: Week starting 2nd Feb to 2nd April Term 2: Week starting 4th May to week of 29th June Term 3: Starts week of 27th July to Week of 21st September Term 4: Starts week of 12th October to week of 7th December For Term 3, we are excited to be collaborating with Rātā Studios in Wellington for our new BOPAS & Rātā Studios Short Film Challenge. This unique partnership gives students the opportunity to connect with young actors from another leading screen acting studio while working towards a shared creative goal. Throughout the term, students will work in teams to develop their own short films from concept to completion. They will create characters, write scenes, perform on camera, and explore the creative and collaborative process behind filmmaking. At the end of the term, completed films will be submitted for judging, with awards celebrating achievements in acting, storytelling, character development, filmmaking, and creativity. Welcome to BOPAS
