At BOP Actors Studio, our classes are led by skilled industry professionals who are working within the Film and TV Industries.
Our primary objective is to deliver exceptional training that inspires actors within the performing arts. Tanya Horo, the owner and tutor at BOPAS, is a prominent Actors Agent in New Zealand. Through our studio, we have successfully placed students in various film and TV projects across Aotearoa and overseas.
We offer a wide range of programs to cater to different needs, including Term Classes, School Holiday Workshops, Specialised Workshops, and One-on-One Coaching for Auditions. We also maintain close relationships with some of New Zealand’s leading agencies.
We pride ourselves on providing ongoing support and assistance to all our students in their acting endeavors. Our tutors are esteemed professionals in the Film and TV Industry, ensuring that our students receive the best guidance available in the Bay of Plenty.

Our Classes
5-8 YEARS
These classes are tailored to cater to the unique needs and interests of children aged 5 to 8, providing them with a fun and enriching experience while laying the foundation for their acting journey.
We focus on helping children develop social connections, nurture their dreams, and encourage them to unleash their imagination in a creative and enjoyable manner.
9-12 YEARS
Our classes for ages 9-12 have a strong focus on improvisation, a wonderful and necessary tool for all actors in Theatre and Film.
During these classes we focus on the skills required to help our young actors work confidentially in the field of screen acting, this also will encourage a better understanding of themselves and their choices that they make for characters.
13-17 YEARS
These classes will focus on audition and acting techniques, as well as the distinction between theatre and film.
At BOPAS our students have the opportunity to learn about the industry from agents, directors, writers and people of authority within the Film and TV Industry here in Tauranga and Auckland.
ADULTS
Our dedicated acting coaches will introduce you to different acting techniques, guide you in expressive skills, and assist in character development. They will explore the mind-body-heart-voice connection, engage in chair work, enhance your audition technique, and cover numerous other aspects of acting.
HOMESCHOOLING CLASSES
Our daytime homeschooling acting classes will have a strong focus on improvisation, a wonderful and necessary tool for all actors in Theatre and Film and TV.
During these classes we focus on the skills required to help our young actors work confidentially in the field of Screen Acting, this also will encourage a better understanding of themselves for theatre.
SUPERNOVAS
“The Supernovas” is a drama class that embraces the diversity of individuals who are differently abled and celebrates their unique abilities and perspectives. Through the art of drama, participants can explore their creativity, build connections, and express themselves in their own authentic way. The drama class provides a supportive environment where participants can connect with others who share similar experiences and challenges.
SILVER SCREENS (60+)
“Silver Screens” is a drama class that proves that it’s never too late to pursue your passion for acting. Through the art of drama, seniors can connect with others, explore their creativity, and develop new skills and talents. The class provides a supportive and inclusive environment that celebrates the unique perspectives and experiences of seniors.
